Background

Kevine is a little bright girl of 7 from Biina, Kampala. She lost both parents to HIV/AIDS a few years ago. She was left with her grandmother who has no job. They do not have any basic needs at home and without the help of Potential Edge, none of the children would be able to go to school. The grandmother has 10 little children to take care of, yet she has no house of her own in either Kampala nor in the countryside. Again there is concern as to what will happen to the children if the grandmother dies.

Kevine performs well in school and is a very creative person. She loves singing so much that at this tender age she can stand before people and sing a song. She also likes telling stories like her grandmother.

In the photo, Kevine is standing with her sister Adikini who is also on the Potential Edge back-to-school program. They attend the same school, St James Primary School.
